Port Huron Amputee Golf Clinic

The Amputee Golf Clinic was a Success. We had many amputees show up to experience the wonderful world of golf and what it has to offer.  The event was held at Golf Country in Marysville.  Jim and and his staff were very gracious and worked with all of the amputees that attended. Linda from Massage & Therapy by design was also there offering a taste of Bowen Work, which has shown a great remedy in the hardships of Phantom Pain.  We were also lucky to have Jimmy John’s donate some wonderful subs for the event. Aaron Horn, one of Able’s prosthetists/orthotist was also there and even snuck in a few lessons himself.

What is a certified practitioner?

According to the American Board for Certified in Prosthetics, Orthotics and Pedorthics an ABC certified orthotics and/or prosthetics is an allied health professional specifically educated and trained to make and fit orthoses and prostheses and manage comprehensive orthotic and/or prosthetic patient care.

As ABC practitioners, these individuals are certified to independently provide or supervise the provision of patient care. This includes patient assessment, formulation of a treatment plan, implementation of a treatment plan, follow-up and practice management.
